Our Keller Williams family listened in disbelief as the story of Will Norton and his Dad Mark’s struggle during the massive tornado that razed most of Joplin, Missouri, was told repeatedly on news programs around the world. On May 22, Will was on his way home from his high school commencement ceremony when the monstrous tornado struck his vehicle just blocks from his family home in southwest Joplin. Young Will lost his life that day. He is remembered as joyful, humorous, exuberant and humble. He was also a part of the Keller Williams family. Will’s Dad, Mark Norton, is an agent at the Joplin Market Center. Will is survived by Mark, his mother Trish and his sister, Sara who was her brother’s best friend.
This year’s KW Cares Party with a Purpose, during Mega Camp on September 20, will benefit the Joplin Daybreak Rotary Disaster Fund that is spearheading the creation of a Joplin Memorial Park. Within the park, a Will Norton Miracle Field is planned to enable children with disabilities to participate in the all- American game of baseball. Proceeds from the KW Cares Party with a Purpose, as well as from live and silent auctions, will be donated help build that very special field. Donations may be made on line at www.kwcares.org or sent to KW Cares, 1221 S. Mopac Expwy, Austin, TX 78749. Please make checks payable to KW Cares and indicate Will Norton Miracle Field in the memo line. Thank you.
